Law Society of Botswana Chairman’s Gala Dinner 2025
The 2025 Law Society Chairman’s Gala Dinner was an unforgettable celebration of modern African identity. Held at the luxurious Travelodge Conference Center, the event brought together distinguished guests from across the legal profession-including the Chief Justice, members of the Judiciary, the Administration of Justice, Legal Aid Botswana and Botswana’s broader corporate community.
The evening was gracefully hosted by Masters of Ceremony, Tkay Lenin and Palesa Molefe. The venue was transformed into a stunning display of cultural pride, with guests adorned in vibrant African regalia such as Mateisi (German print), Agbada (West African robe), Ghanaian Kente, Seanamarena (Basotho heritage blanket) and other traditional wear, showcasing the rich tapestry of African heritage.
A standout moment of the evening was the keynote address penned by our Guest of Honour, the Honourable Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Mr Ramaotwana, who unfortunately could not be present but his speech was read by Senior Counsel, Ms Patient Pepsi Thuto, who spoke powerfully on the theme: “The Verdict of Heritage: African Diversity Meets Modern Law.”
The night also featured an awards segment, where the best-dressed male and female legal professionals were recognized for their outstanding traditional style and interpretation of the theme. Guests were further treated to captivating performances by Mophato Dance Theatre and Fifi Afrika, whose artistry brought cultural expression to life in spectacular fashion.
