The committee is tasked with providing designed professional education programmes which will develop legal practitioners. The purpose of these programmes is to advanced critical thinking, professional knowledge, legal etiquettes and imperative skills to use in the legal fraternity.
The Committee spearheaded by Pepsi Thuto annually organises the Trial Advocacy Training. A course that is aimed at refining attorney’s trial advocacy skills and teach innovative practice techniques. It usually runs over a period of 5 days with the first session around April and the second session around November.
This training first took place in 2009, a collaborative effort between Justice Advocacy Africa (JAA) and the Law Society of Botswana. Since then more than 15 programmes have been conducted and over 400 hundred attorneys alongside other professionals linked to the legal fraternity have been trained.
